Why LeBron James is the GOAT

GOAT, as many of us know, means “greatest of all time” and is a term that you will hear a lot when you’re talking about sports or talking with the die-hard sports fans in your life. The majority of us know of plenty of goated athletes, and while there are a ton, there are a few that may come to mind, such as LeBron James. With him also being referenced as King James, this is enough to give him the “GOAT” title. So… Why is LeBron James the GOAT?

King of The Land and His Community

Since LeBron’s second departure from the Cavs in 2018, he is still known to be a prevalent face of The Land. With his LeBron James Family Foundation, a foundation that “invests its time, resources, and attention in the kids of LeBron’s hometown of Akron, Ohio,” LeBron James surely shows his humanitarian side. He has always advocated for human rights and has had a huge impact on first-time voters getting to the polls. 

While LeBron has given the Cavs great success and has provided a foundation for children in Akron, he has also had an extremely successful career outside of the Cavs and Ohio. We can all see LeBron as an extremely charitable and generous Ohioan who will never forget where he came from.

Career Highlights

LeBron has highlights in his career that are extremely impressive and have led him to great success. For instance, he is the only player in the NBA who has won Finals MVP with THREE different franchises. After leaving the Cavaliers and joining the Miami Heat, the Heat proceeded to win the NBA finals that year. Only the GOAT could leave a team and join another and win the NBA finals that same year. 

Throughout LeBron’s career with the Cavaliers, he scored a record of 23,119 points and led the Cavs to their 2015-2016 NBA Championship after coming back home, which was a celebration for every Ohioan and was a huge moment for Cleveland. With LeBron’s current team, the Lakers, he was the first Laker in 10 years to have seven consecutive 30-point games, averaging 36 points per game. 

LeBron has had an impressive career. Whether you love or hate him, it can always be said that he’s the GOAT. LeBron James is someone who has set records that had never been set and is constantly enhancing the teams that he has been a part of. On top of the records and the highlights, he is extremely in tune with the people and will always give back to his community however he can. All of these highlights, records, and humanitarian acts will ensure that LeBron continues being goated for the rest of eternity.
